Your privacy is important to us. This policy outlines how Mechanical Animals handles user data, including analytics and user-uploaded content.

Data Collection

Mechanical Animals does not collect personal data such as emails, passwords, or user accounts. The only data we receive is from Apple’s built-in analytics, which you can choose to share.

Usage Analytics

To improve the app, Mechanical Animals uses PostHog, an open-source analytics tool, to collect anonymous usage statistics. These statistics help us understand feature usage while respecting user privacy.

We do not track personally identifiable information (PII), and all analytics data is collected in an aggregated, anonymous format.

User-Uploaded Content & Public Sharing

Mechanical Animals allows users to upload images for generating custom puzzles. These images are used to create shareable puzzles, which can be publicly shared via a **public share link** generated by the app.

How it works:

• Users upload an image to generate a custom puzzle.
• The app creates a **public share link** that can be shared with others.
• The puzzle and its image are accessible to **anyone with the link**.

Image Retention & Deletion

Uploaded images are **automatically deleted after 7 days**. Once deleted, the puzzle and its share link will no longer be accessible.

Users are responsible for managing the distribution of their share links. While images are not indexed or searchable, **anyone with the share link can access the puzzle** until the automatic deletion period expires.

User Responsibility

By uploading an image and sharing a public link, users acknowledge and agree that:

• The uploaded content is their own or they have permission to use it.
• They are responsible for sharing the puzzle link with others.
• The puzzle will be publicly accessible to anyone with the link until deletion.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect uploaded content. However, because shared puzzles are accessible via a public link, we recommend users **only share links with trusted individuals**.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page, and we encourage users to review it periodically.
